HOW SOLAR WORKS
- The inverter is wired into the electrical service panel.
- During the day when the sun is shining and the system is producing electricity,
appliances and lights are being powered by the solar system.
- During the day, if the system is producing more energy than the house is using at that time, that electricity goes back into the electrical grid and you
can potentially receive a credit if your annual production is more than your
annual consumption.
- At night you still pull from the electrical grid, but you do not have to pay for
the unused electricity that the system produced during the day beyond what was used in the house at that time.
- If the house is still connected to the electrical grid, then there is no need for
the storage of electricity.
- Only sites with no connection to utility lines necessitate the need for energy storage by means of a battery bank.
